“Purgatory” is a creative project written and illustrated by Laurien Fichtner spanning three novels, (with one written and two in-progress,) over five years of development.
Gods are real, Hell is hungry, the hive of Heaven lost free will, and Purgatory, a dimensional pit at the bottom of reality, is the battleground.
Surel, an amnesiac, rotting stablehand serving the independent Purgatory fortress of Demon’s Eden: Edonmej, wants nothing to do with any of it. The Angels attack, Hell campaigns for a foothold in its eternal war, and strange things happen the more they turn away. Old memories and monsters best left buried begin to resurface when they mistakenly get involved with their home’s god-blood wielding lord, Menelaus.
Purgatory is where forgotten gods die, and perhaps, there are more secrets under the sand than anyone had known.
